The Lindab Christmas Charity Championship has a worthy winner

In 2020 Lindab hosted their first Christmas Charity Championship and were overwhelmed by the support it received and more importantly the feedback from charities involved was fantastic. Lindab were therefore excited to bring the competition back for Christmas 2021 and hoped to have a similar impact on the charities included this year.

The championship includes charities local to each of Lindab's 23 UK branches and sites. In the run up to Christmas, Lindab post polls to social media and their website which allow supporters to vote for their preferred charity, helping them to progress within the competition. 

All charities taking part receive a donation from Lindab, the further they progress, a bigger donation is given and the victorious charity takes a huge £5,000 donation at Christmas.

The winner this year is Lennox Children's Charity Fund of Basildon. Their supporters worked hard at every stage to help them claim victory and the £5,000 prize donation. Since the charity was founded in 1992, Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund have worked tirelessly to make a positive difference to children diagnosed with cancer and their families.

Some of the Lindab team visited Lennox to present them with their winner's cheque and to find out more about their fantastic work. They had been busy wrapping a mountain of Christmas gifts for the children that they work with and told the Lindab team about how they offer support for the families of these children all year round.

Lindab learned about some inspiring plans for new initiatives to be launched in 2022 and how much the donation will help make this a reality. Lindab are very grateful to Lindsey, Vincent, Gemma and Vicky for taking time out from their incredible work to talk to them.

The support that has been given to the championship is overwhelming. Over 60,000 votes were received in total, endless shares on social media and a huge amount of comments written about the amazing work being done by the charities involved.

A total of 69 charities have received a donation from Lindab as part of the Championship. Lindab has also received feedback from many of the charities about increased donations and engagement as a result of their involvement.  They would like to thank all that voted, shared and especially anyone who has donated.
